Upload speeds up to 10x faster than our current broadband speeds increasing from around 1 Mbps to up to 10Mbps. 

Download speeds of up to 40Mbps with a minimum downstream throughput of either 12 or 16Mbps[1]ensuring a level of performance even at times when the network is busy.

FTTC delivers extremely high speed broadband to businesses and homes by shortening the distance the connection travels on the copper line. This is achieved by installing 'street DSLAMs' which act like a mini exchanges close to the business or home. Fibre is connected between these Street DSLAMs and the telephone exchange. The remainder of the distance between the street DSLAM and the customer premises is copper, but the copper distance is short enough to use VDSL (Very-high-bit rate digital subscriber line) technology which has a maximum upload speed of up to 10Mbps and a download speed of up to 40Mbps.
